ICT 4 the Elderly aims to facilitate a pathway for up-skilling the digital competences of individuals between the age of 55 and 75 years and to make them aware of some of the many opportunities that the Internet offers.

Since the launch, project partners have been working on collecting best practices and open educational resources (OERs) to be used for the development of the training manual and Online Academy. A programme that shows success in the field of digital inclusion and basic ICT skills has been labelled as relevant for the project.

This phase is led by the German partner, Stiftung Digitale Chancen that will also host the second face-to-face meeting in Berlin on 19-20 March 2019. During the meeting, project partners will have the possibility to discuss and analyse all the resources collected as well as future activities.

The main points on the Agenda are:

  • The finalisation of the first phase regarding the collection of Best Practices and Open Education Resources
  • The development of the training materials; after the selection of the best OERs, these will be adopted for the development of the Online Academy and by Simbioza for the development of the training manual.
  • The discussion on the mobility of the ambassadors; once the training materials are ready, individuals aged 55-75 years old will be selected through a call for applicants and will take part in the piloting as ambassadors of the project.

We look forward to seeing the progress of the project and our project partners in Berlin!
